Myriad v5.27 introduces the ability add additional security to prevent unauthorised users from accessing Myriad either locally via Myriad Playout, or remotely via Myriad Anywhere.
Sometimes known as a "2FA" or "MFA" (2-factor Authentication or Multi-factor Authentication) this requires you to enter a PIN code as well as your username and password. This PIN Code is generated by a special type of mobile app that must be installed on your mobile phone and that only you have access to, and the code changes regularly to ensure that even if someone does see that code, it will have expired before they can use it.
Setting up your Authenticator App.
The first time you login to Myriad after this new feature has been activated, you will be prompted to setup your "Authenticator App" (see below). This will show a window with your station name and your login name at the top, and a QR Code that you will scan using the App. It will look something like this:
In your Authenticator App, there will be an option called something like "Add account". Click this, and it will ask you to scan the QR Code with your phone's camera.
This will then add the account to your app, and you will then either see the latest code immediately, or you may need to tap on it to see the code.
Back in Myriad, click the "Create, verify and save your settings button" and it will ask you for this code. Entire the code from your phone and it will confirm that it has been setup correctly. If you cancel before entering the code, then you may need to remove and re-add the Account from the App before you can use the code.
The next time you login to Myriad, you will be asked for the latest code, just launch the Authenticator App on your phone, select the account and enter the PIN code it shows into Myriad.
If you need to remove or reconfigure your One-Time PIN, then you can do this from the "Manage your One-Time PIN" option on the View menu (in Myriad Playout) or from the Myriad menu button in Myriad Anywhere.
There are several "Authenticator" applications available from both the Apple and Google App Stores, and the 3 below have been tested with Myriad Playout and Myriad Anywhere.
Download the application from the appropriate store and complete it's installation process. Once installed you will need to "Add an account" and then you will be asked to scan a QR Code as described above.
