Introduction
Myriad OCP v5.28.1 introduces the ability to use your own Twitter Developer account to post messages.
Setting up a Twitter developer account can be a complicated process, so you should follow the Twitter documentation at https://developer.twitter.com
Process
Once you are logged into your Developer account, create a new App and give it a suitable memorably name - for example you might use your Station's Name followed by "Studio" to suggest to your followers that has come from your station - e.g. "Hot FM Studio".
Make a note of the API Key and the API Secret Key as you will need to enter these into Myriad OCP's Station Settings Window. If you lose these you will need to regenerate the keys from the Twitter developer console.
Once the App has been created, you will need to edit the Apps permissions to give it "Read and Write" permissions so that it can post tweets on your behalf.
Myriad OCP Settings
In Myriad OCP, on the Station you want to configure click the Settings button in the top right hand corner and choose Station Settings.
On the Social Media tab click Clear Credentials to remove any existing information, then check the Use custom Twitter API Keys check box.
Enter the API Key and API Secret Key you got from the Twitter developer console into the the API Key and API Secret Key text boxes.
Click the Authenticate button and you will be taken to the Twitter site to authorise your "XYZ FM Studio" application to access your Twitter account on your behalf. Click to approve this and then enter the PIN Number into the waiting message box and click OK.
The Twitter Settings should now update to show that you have Authenticated correctly and the window should look like this:
Click OK to save the settings and close the window.
