Deleting Categories, Tags and Extended Attributes (Type, Gender, Era)

You can delete Song Categories, Tags and extended Attributes (Type, Gender, Era). You can only delete Categories, Tags and extended Attributes that are not assigned to any Songs or Links.

1. Click on the Settings menu in Myriad Playout.

2. Click Categories and Attributes.

3. Select Media Item Type you want to delete a Category or Attribute for (Song, Link, Advert, News Item or Pre-Recorded Show.)

4. Select the Attribute you want to delete from (Category, Tag, Type, Gender, Era Tags etc)

5. Find the Catgeory, Attribute or Tag you want to delete and click on the X button to the right of the row.

6. You will be asked to confirm the action. Click on Yes.

7. If a Category, extended Attribute or Tag is assigned to one or more Songs or Links then you will not be able to delete it until the association is removed. In the example below, the Count column shows that the Music Beds Category has a eight Songs using it as a Primary or Secondary Category.  

8. When you try and delete the Category, you will receive a warning message blocking the Category removal. You will need to remove all Songs from the Category before you can deleet it from your system.

9. You can repeat this process for Categories and Tags (Myriad Schedule Standard) as well as extended Attributes (Type, Gender & Era) if you have Myriad Schedule Pro.

10. Select the Attribute you want to edit and click on the X to remove items from the Attibute list. In then example below we have selected the Songs tab and the Gender Names Attribute. We can now edit existing Gender Names or remove them enitrely.

11. As with Catregory, you cannot remove a Tag or Attribute that is assigned to one or more Songs or Links.

12. Once you are happy, click on OK to save and close the window.
