Posting Messages From Myriad Playout 6 to Bluesky

Prerequisites:

• Myriad Playout 6.5.2 or higher
• Myriad OCP 6.5.2 or higher

Setting Up The Connection To Your Bluesky Account

To post messages from the Log (or manual messages) to your Bluesky account, you will first authorise your Myriad OCP application to access your Bluesky account. 

To authorise access, follow these steps:

1. Ensure your OCP and Myriad Playout applications are connected and that OCP is receiving information from Myriad Playout.
   
   
   
   
2. Click on the Cog button in the top right of the Stations section.
   
   
3. Select Station Settings from the drop down menu.
   
   
   
   
4. Switch to the Social Media tab and add in your Bluesky login credentials.
   
   
   
   
5. Once your details have been added, click on the Authenticate button.
   
   
   
   
6. Once your credentials are accepted by Bluesky, the connection status will change to Authenticated.
   
   
   
   
7. Click on OK to close the Station Settings window.
   
   
8. On the Current Information tab in the main OCP Stations section, you will now see your Bluesky account listed.
   
   
   
   
9. Social Posts that are scheduled on the Log or manually inserted will now how the option to post to the linked Bluesky Account.
   
   

Adding Artists Handles

Myriad Playout v6.5.2 onwards, also allows you to add a Bluesky handle to Artists in the Artist Management window.

Myriad Playout will try to automatically retrieve the Bluesky handle from a range of sources, but currently only a few artists have this information widely available. You can also manually add the handles following these steps:

1. In Myriad Playout, click on the View Menu > Manage Artists / Item Titles option.
   
   
   
   
2. Search for the Artist you want to add the Bluesky handle for, then past in the handle into the Bluesky field.
   
   
   
   
3. Click on the Save button to save the information.
   
   
   
   

Adding Artists To Bluesky Lists

Bluesky allows you publish Lists that link to other Bluesky accounts you are interested in, You can setup OCP to automatically build a list of Artists you play. Each time you play a Song by an Artists, OCP will check to see if they have a Bluesky handle set. If they do, it will check the selected List on Bluesky and if the Artists is not in the List, it will add it. If the Artist is already on the List then OCP will not re-add them.

To automatically update a List on your Bluesky account, follow these steps.

1. Login to your Bluesky account and create a new List that you want OCP to add Artists to.
   
   
   
   
2. Make sure your Bluesky account is Authenticated so than OCP can post information (see above).
   
   
   
   
3. Tick the Add played artists to a Bluesky list option and select the List from the drop down list.
   
   
   
   
4. Please note that currently, only a limited number of Artists operate Bluesky accounts.
