Installing The Myriad 7 Beta

This article will guide you through the process of installing the Myriad 7 beta release on a PC currently running Myriad 6 or a brand new PC that has not had Myriad installed before.

Prerequisites

Before you start, please check the list below to ensure you have everything you need to successfully install Myriad 7 beta.

• Myriad 7 Playout License Code - You will need to request this from hello@broadcastradio.com. Myriad 7 will not use your existing Myriad 6 license code.
• Myriad 7 Station Enabler Code - You will need to request this from hello@broadcastradio.com. Myriad 7 will not use your existing Myriad 6 enabler code even if it is opening the same Station.
• Myriad 7 Playout & Support Applications Installers - You can download the these from the Broadcast Radio website (https://www.broadcastradio.com/myriad-7-playout-support)

Please note that whilst you need a license code and station enabler for Myriad 7 beta, you can run playout in evaluation mode for up to four days before you need to enter the license code.

Myriad 6 & Myriad 7 Co-existing

Myriad 7 has been designed to allow it to co-exist with Myriad 6 running on the same PC and/or access the same database, audio and data files.

This allows stations running Myriad 6 to evaluate Myriad 7 using their existing data, prior to the full upgrade.

The key things are:

• Myriad 7 can be installed on a PC that already has Myriad 6 installed.
• Myriad 7 can be configured to use the same dataset as Myriad 6.
• Using Myriad 7 will not alter the data in way that will negatively impact Myriad 6.
• Once you have finished evaluating Myriad 7, you can continue to use Myriad 6 as normal.
• You should avoid running Myriad 7 Playout or any of the Myriad 7 Support Applications at the same time as the Myriad 6 equivalents.
• You should avoid using Myriad 7 beta for on-air or mission critical systems.

Installing Myriad 7 On A PC With Myriad 6 Already Installed

To install and run Myriad 7 on a PC already setup to run Myriad 6, follow these steps:

1. Contact hello@broadcastradio.com to obtain a Myriad 7 Beta License Code & Station Enabler.
2. Download the Myriad Playout installer and any additional support applications you wish to test from https://www.broadcastradio.com/myriad-7-playout-support)
3. Run the installer file and follow any onscreen instructions.
4. Myriad 7 will detect your Myriad 6 installation and self configure to use the same database and data locations.
5. When  prompted, enter your Myriad 7 license and Station Enabler code (see https://help.broadcastradio.com/en/support/solutions/articles/101000594208-licensing-myriad-playout-v7).
6. Enjoy Myriad 7 beta.

Installing Myriad 7 On A New PC Without Myriad 6 Data

To install and run Myriad 7 as a new installation with no pre-existing Myriad data, follow these steps:

1. Contact hello@broadcastradio.com to obtain a Myriad 7 Beta License Code & Station Enabler.
2. Download the Myriad Playout installer and any additional support applications you wish to test from https://www.broadcastradio.com/myriad-7-playout-support).

4. Run the installer file and follow any onscreen instructions.
5. Myriad 7 will detect that this is a new installation and will launch the Setup Wizard. Follow the instructions on Setup Wizard configure your Myriad 7 system.
