Known Browser/Device Issues

This article explains known faults and bugs in particular web browsers, operating systems, or with particular hardware, and the workarounds to solve them.

Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge

Robotic or Choppy Audio When Recording (All Operating Systems)

This happens if the system is running at high load (for example, if another program is using lots of processing time), and is exascerbated by having multiple tabs open.

This happens because Chromium's engine misses a strict computational deadline to save an audio sample, so it is lost forever.

To fix this problem, either close other software before pressing record, use the downloadable version of Myriad Anywhere, or use our recommended browser - Mozilla Firefox.

Mozilla Firefox

BR Live audio sounds high-pass filtered / has no bass (macOS)

This issue happens when Firefox uses the default audio output on macOS. To work around this bug, change the 'Main Output' to any option except 'Default'.

Distorted/Clipping Voice Recordings (macOS)

This is caused by a bug in Firefox version 128 (which should be fixed in version 129), which introduces DC offset. In the mean time, you can install the Extended Support Release which does not have this issue, or you may use another browser.

Safari

No media playback / SegEdit gets stuck on "Decoding media"

You might be running an unsupported version of Safari. Myriad Anywhere and BR Live will only work on Safari 15.5 and above.

Apple Safari does not support the audio format used by Myriad products. Myriad Anywhere 6 has its own audio system that can process this format, but it requires the "WebAssembly" feature in newer versions of Safari.

Note that enabling Lockdown Mode will prevent any audio playback in Myriad Anywhere.

RODECaster Pro II

Audio recording is choppy / dropping out

To solve this, disable MIDI in the RODECaster setting, or use the Secondary USB port for audio.

This issue happens because the RODECaster sends MIDI updates too quickly, which causes some audio to become delayed.

Windows 11

Audio recording is choppy / dropping out

Our support team have observed that some Windows 11 installs do not allow you to apply the "Max" performance plan correctly. This only seems affect systems that have been 'in place' upgraded from Windows 10.

To solve this:

  1. Open the start menu and search Control Panel (and click Control Panel, not Settings)
  2. Find the Power Options and click it
  3. Make sure the Max Performance power plan is selected.
  4. Press Apply
  5. Click Edit next to the Max plan
  6. Press Change Advanced Power Settings
  7. Expand the Sleep section
  8. Disable Hybrid Sleep
  9. Expand the USB section
  10. Ensure that USB Selective Suspend is Disabled
  11. Expand the Graphics section
  12. Ensure any "Power Plan" settings are set to Maximum
  13. Expand the Multimedia settings
  14. Ensure the Sharing Media setting is set to Prevent idling to sleep
  15. Press OK
  16. Restart BR Live

Additionally, you can tune Windows to prefer performance over graphics:

  1. From the Start Menu, search for Advanced System Settings
  2. Under the Advanced tab, click on Performance
  3. Choose Adjust for best performance
  4. Press OK, and restart your computer
