Introduction
The Axia IQ and Radius consoles both use the same QOR 16 or QOR 32 engines, and this article will give you information on how to configure the Hardware Service to connect to the QOR to receive GPO signals from the QOR's virtual GPIO devices.
A common use case is if you want to display Mic Live or combined Mic Live (e.g. Control Room muting) information on a SmartSign. To do this, you would add a Virtual Network device to the Hardware Service and connect it to the QOR, then connect your SmartSign to the same Virtual Network device and configure a SmartDisplay tile to react to the changing line states.
The configuration required in the QOR is beyond the scope of this article, please contact Telos for information on how to assign the GPIO's.
Requirements
You will need to have installed the latest Hardware Service (at least v5.16 or higher) and also have the username and password to your Axia system.

Virtual Network Device Configuration
After installing the HW Service and the Axia QOR unit as per the manual, use the Axia console to determine the IP address of the QOR unit and then go into the Broadcast Radio Hardware Service Configuration Tool and click Configure. Then right click on the Virtual Network Devices tree node and click Add Virtual Network Device.
Click on Load Preset... in the top right hand corner and load in the Axia IQ.hwp file that is attached to this article. This will preconfigure many of the settings for you.
Once the preset has loaded, change the Device Description to something memorably, for example "Studio 1 Axia IQ", and ensure that the the Listen on TCP port: checkbox is cleared, that the Connect via TCP to: checkbox is ticked, and then enter the IP address from the QOR utility. In our example, the IP address is the default Axia IP address of "192.168.2.27". Finally, make sure that the port is set to 93 and that Keep Connected is checked.
At this point the VND is fully configured for our scenario and you can click OK to save the new Network Device. Once you have configured your Axia QOR to activate one of the 8 virtual GPIO devices then you should see the corresponding line activate in the Hardware Monitor.
