Displaying the current time in a Myriad Playout ClockView

Introduction

Myriad Playout v6.5.1 adds in a new feature to the ClockView component so it can show the current system time, or the time in another time zone that you specify. This is useful if you want to display the current time from multiple time zones.

Enabling this for a ClockView involves editing the XML file for the layout containing the ClockView(s). For a general overview of how to do this, see the Help article Creating & Editing Dynamic Layouts In Myriad 5 Playout.

Enter the ID of the desired time zone from the table below into the <timeZoneId> of the clockView in your layout file. If the <timeZoneId> section does not exist, add it below <showPreferences> as below, and change the value to the ID you wish to use:

If this value is missing or invalid when Myriad Playout loads the layout file, the ClockView will default to the current local time of the computer.

For example, to display the time using Eastern Standard Time you would add this section:

<timeZoneId>Eastern Standard Time</timeZoneId>

To specify UK time:

<timeZoneId>GMT Standard Time</timeZoneId>
