Using the Library Tab in Myriad Playout 6

Modified on Fri, 11 Apr at 5:53 PM

The Library tab in Myriad Playout 6 provides an intuitive, category-driven way to browse, search, and use the content stored on your Media Wall. While the Media Wall is organized numerically by Media ID, the Library tab is organized by categories and attributes, making it ideal for content discovery and quick access during live or planned shows.

? What Is the Library Tab?

  • A category-based view of the Media Wall

  • Included in virtually all dynamic layouts

  • Provides access to the same media items as the Media Wall
(with hour/date restricted content hidden by default)

Instead of scrolling through media numbers, you can filter by:

  • Content type (e.g., songs, jingles, links)

  • Category

  • Tags

  • Attributes (e.g., gender, era, type — if configured)

? Searching the Library

You can perform both quick and advanced searches to find specific media items:

? Basic Search

  • Use the search box to type in:

    • Artist name

    • Title

    • Keywords

? Advanced Search

  • Click Advanced Search on the ribbon

  • Search with detailed criteria, such as:

    • Artist: Heather Smalls

    • Item Type: Songs

    • Category or Tag filters

  • Click Search to display results in the main window

? You can sort results by clicking any column header, and rearrange columns by dragging them — Myriad remembers your layout next time you log in.

? Interacting with Media Items

Once you’ve found your desired item, you can:

  • Drag into a media player for immediate playout

  • Drag into the log for scheduled use

  • Add to favorites or the pad for quick access

  • Right-click for additional options:

    • Play

    • Preview

    • Edit

    • View item information (including schedule history and rule checks)

    • Export

    • Delete

All these tools are also available via the Library ribbon tabs.

⚙️ Filtering Restricted Content

By default, media items that are hour- or date-restricted are excluded from the Library tab.

To override this:

  1. Go to the View tab

  2. Enable Include Date and Hour Restricted Items

This allows you to view all items regardless of their current availability — helpful when preparing future shows or reviewing out-of-rotation material.

✅ Summary

The Library tab in Myriad Playout 6 is a powerful and user-friendly way to:

  • Search and browse your station's content by category and attributes

  • Add items to the log, favorites, or pad with a click or drag

  • Quickly find songs, promos, links, and more — without knowing Media IDs

  • Access scheduling data, rule compliance, and media details in one place

It’s your go-to tool for managing content quickly and confidently — whether you're producing a live show or building automated hours.
