Understanding the Media Wall in Myriad

What Is the Media Wall?

The Media Wall is central to how Myriad stores and organizes audio content. All media is represented visually as tiles and stored by number, starting at 1 and going up to:

  • 100,000 items by default

  • Millions of items if configured for large-scale systems

Each media tile can be used throughout Myriad — in players, the log, favorites, and more — simply by dragging and dropping.

Media Wall Layout & Organization

  • Divided into ranges (e.g., Songs, Adverts, Jingles)

  • Each range can have a default media type

  • Automatic audio normalization can be configured per range

Navigating the Media Wall

You can find items in several ways:

  • Jump Buttons to skip between media ranges

  • Search bar for quick keyword lookup (e.g., artist, title)

  • Scroll manually through tiles

  • Jump to Media ID if you know the exact number

Adding & Editing Media

  • Drag and drop a file onto an empty tile to import it

  • Click Edit Tools to adjust:

    • Title

    • Artist

    • Categories

    • Timing

    • Additional metadata

Customizing Display

  • Use the View tab to change how many items are shown

  • Choose your preferred tile layout or display style

Recording & Deleting

  • Right-click a tile to record directly into that slot

  • Delete items (with proper user permissions) by right-clicking and selecting delete

Mini Browser Mode

In some cases, the Media Wall appears in a mini-browser format, allowing for quick drag-and-drop into other parts of Myriad (e.g., the playout log or players).

✅ Summary

The Media Wall is the central hub for all audio content in Myriad. From drag-and-drop importing to editing, playback, and organization, it’s a powerful tool that makes media handling seamless and efficient.
