About the Audio Monitor
The Audio Monitor is an application developed by Broadcast Radio to monitor a sound device's levels and provide an on-screen display as well as email notifications of silences, even via SSL encrypted email servers.
It can monitor:
- A "line-in" device - for example a soundcard input, microphone, virtual sound device input, or even the microphone from a webcam
- A "remote" device - if you are running the Audio Monitor on one computer, you can "share" it's VU levels over the network and a remote instance of the Audio Monitor can then connect to it to also monitor those levels. Ideal for monitoring live audio at a remote location.
- An audio stream - you can monitor an online audio stream for silences. It's important to note that it will be connected constantly and your streaming host may therefore show this connection as a "listener" that may count towards your total listener hours if you have to report that information to a copyright body.
Myriad Playout v5 and v6, SmartSign v1,v2 and v3, as well Myriad Monitor v4 and v6 can also connect to the Audio Monitor to display the levels alongside the Myriad Playout Log or around your building - even across multiple sites using your existing WAN if you have one.
Technical Support
Note: The Audio Monitor is free to use, and you can run as many copies in as many locations as you like, but is provided without warranty, so support is not available by the Technical Support Team.
