Not all media items on the Media Wall are meant to be available to Myriad Schedule for automated scheduling. Myriad gives you detailed control over when, how often, and for how long an item can be used in scheduled logs.
This article shows you how to apply hour-based, date-based, and availability rules to media items using the Restrictions Tab.
Enabling or Disabling Scheduling for a Media Item
Open the Edit Window for the media item
Navigate to the Restrictions tab
At the top, you’ll see a checkbox to:
Allow this item to be scheduled
Prevent this item from being used by Myriad Schedule
Useful for items that are manually placed, reserved for live shows, or seasonally used.
Hour Restrictions Grid
The Hour Restrictions Grid is a visual tool for defining when an item can be scheduled:
Green Boxes = Allowed hours
Red Boxes = Blocked hours
To adjust:
Left-click and drag across the grid to toggle availability
Example: To block a song from scheduling during the day, mark 06:00–18:00 as red
? Perfect for content with time-sensitive relevance — such as overnight jingles, daytime promos, or late-night-only tracks.
Using Presets
You can save your hour restrictions as a preset, allowing you to apply the same scheduling rules across multiple media items.
This speeds up batch editing and ensures consistency across your library.
Date Range & Deletion Controls
Switch to the Other tab to set:
?Start Date
The earliest date Myriad Schedule is allowed to use the media item
End Date
The last date the item can be scheduled
(Useful for limited-time promos, seasonal content, or temporary links)
? Deletion Date
The date Myriad will automatically delete the media item from the system
(Note: Item must not be in active use in the log when this date is reached)
✅ Summary
Myriad Playout 6 provides comprehensive tools to control media availability:
Use the Restrictions tab to limit content by hour or daypart
Save and reuse presets for common scheduling rules
Define Start/End and Deletion Dates for time-limited or seasonal content
By setting these rules properly, you can ensure that the right content airs at the right time — and nothing overstays its welcome on your system.
