Myriad Playout 6 allows you to attach rich, categorized notes to any media item. These notes can serve multiple purposes — from internal reminders to content metadata intended for external platforms such as RDS or web displays.
This guide shows you how to view, add, and manage notes using the Notes Tab in the Media Item Edit Window.
? Accessing the Notes Tab
Select the media item on the Media Wall
Click Edit
Navigate to the Notes tab
This tab will display any existing notes already attached to the item and allow you to add more Notes.
➕ Adding a New Note
Click the Add Note button for the type of Note you want to add.
Type your note content into the editor
You can use notes for:
Presenter reminders (e.g., "Do not play after 6PM")
Technical details (e.g., "Mono source, normalize before use")
External info for automation systems (e.g., RDS, web, social captions)
? Scheduling Notes (Optional)
You can control when a note is shown using the date and time fields:
From Date/Time: The note becomes active at this point
To Date/Time: The note expires after this time
Leave these blank if the note should always be visible
? Timed notes are useful for time-sensitive promos, seasonal content, or broadcast alerts.
? Categorizing Notes by Type
Each note can be categorized under a note type, including:
AI Voice Link Script
Digital Radio
Web
Social Media
Technical
This categorization helps determine where or how the note is used — for example, whether it's shown to presenters or exported to external systems.
? Saving Your Notes
Once your notes are added and configured:
Click Save to attach them to the media item
Notes will now be visible to anyone editing or scheduling that item, and used appropriately based on their type
